In Brightspace, you can email a specific group very easily without having to individually add each person's email to your message.  Here's instructions on how to do this.


For Instructors

  1. In your course, select the Groups tab from the Navbar.


  2. Select the group that you would like to email from the list by checking the box to the left of the Group name.


  3. Click Email at the top of the group list.


  4. A new window will pop up entitled Compose New Email.  Scroll down to the text box and type your email. You can add attachments as you would with an email from the Outlook program.

  5. Be sure to add your PTS email as the primary recipient (i.e. "To: YOUR PTS EMAIL") if you would like to have a copy of this email. Brightspace does not hold a copy of your email.

  6. When you have finished composing the email, scroll back up to the top of the window and click Send.


For Learners

  1. In your course, select the Groups tab from the Navbar.

  2. Click the Email icon next to your group. 


  3. A new window will pop up entitled Compose New Email.  Scroll down to the text box and type your email. You can add attachments as you would with an email from the Outlook program.

  4. Be sure to add your PTS email as the primary recipient (i.e. "To: YOUR PTS EMAIL") if you would like to have a copy of this email. Brightspace does not hold a copy of your email.

  5. When you have finished composing the email, scroll back up to the top of the window and click Send.
